How white is the green of the stone rose

Galerie Fenna Wehlau presents for the first time a solo exhibition with the internationally known sculptor Dieter Kränzlein (1962). Dieter Kränzlein works concisely geometric forms such as cuboids, cones, cylinders and stelae in his preferred materials of Moos shell limestone and Norwegian marble. He infuses their surfaces with rectilinear or rythmitized incisions that reveal the true interior of the stone and emphasize the form in question. In a final step, Kränzlein colors the surface of selected sculptures with primary colors over the entire surface or in parts. While the marble shimmers through these layers of color, the shell limestone reveals its iron oxide injections and its matte character. The works of Dieter Kränzlein fascinate in their block-like effect and consistency.

We show stele suitable for outdoor use, wall works, free-standing sculptures and monochrome stone cuts. We are particularly pleased to present in this exhibition Dieter Kränzlein's charity artwork for the association aufwind e.V.: a multi-part wall work in shell limestone with partially colored ashlars in 14 x 14 cm. For a good year, the artist has been involved with this project for families with seriously or chronically ill children.
